RX: Latvia handed World RX round in 2016

Latvia's capital city Riga has been added to the World Rallycross championship calendar for 2016 as part of a new multi-year deal. The Bikernieki National Sports Base circuit, situated a short distance from the city centre of Riga, will host the Latvian round of the World Rallycross championship with a brand new 1.3 kilometre rallycross circuit to be built in preparation. As is common in WRX, the course will be split between asphalt and gravel surfaces and will also have three separate jumps. RA Events director Raimonds Strokss is delighted to secure Latvia a round in the World RX and is confident the event will increase interest in the sport from within the country.
