The pair initially raced each other among the stunning fjord scenery of the Lyseveien road, which features 27 hairpin bends in 29km (below). Svindal bolted on his skis for flat-out off-piste downhill, while Mikkelsen threaded his car between massive snowbanks which towered up to eight metres high. When the snow became sparse, Svindal was strapped into the Polo R for the final few kilometres. “A priceless experience! I really hope I get the chance to do that again some time,” said 32-year-old Svindal. “I have to confess to being a little bit jealous of Andreas for driving in rallies.” Watch Mikkelsen and Svindal in action in the video below.
