Kubica retires

Former F1 driver Robert Kubica has retired from day one of Rally Finland due to mechanical problems. Kubica had finished Friday's opening loop in sixth position overall, despite struggling with multiple issues in the morning, with a faulty sensor slowing him SS2, a puncture and a handbrake problem hindering him in SS3 and then alternator issues in SS4 and SS5. The Pole had to push his car out of the mid-day regroup and managed to get his Fiesta RS WRC to re-start, but retired before SS6, the repeat-run through Pihlajakoski.
