Kubica to miss Rally Australia for WRC testing

Robert Kubica has opted to skip Rally Australia to get an extended test run in the RK World Rally Team Ford Fiesta RS in preparation for the remaining asphalt World Rally Championship events. The former Formula 1 star suffered a nightmare in his maiden run in the asphalt set-up in the new specification Ford Fiesta in Germany due to an engine problem. He eventually finished the rally a lowly 35th after receiving a five-minute time penalty for changing his engine. Kubica complained of being unable to find a solid set-up throughout Rally Germany and feels it is more important to solve these issues away from racing.
