Volkswagen Motorsport II pilot Andreas Mikkelsen will start Wales Rally GB, despite a scare on the eve of the event that forced him to skip the shakedown. Mikkelsen, who secured his maiden WRC victory last time out in Spain, had “not felt 100 per cent” on Wednesday and flew to Germany last night for a medical check-up by the teams doctors, described as a “precautionary measure” by VW.
