Mexico WRC: Ogier claims early lead with two Super Special stage wins

Championship leader Sebastien Ogier concluded the first day of Rally Mexico, his 100th WRC event of his career, in the overall lead. The Thursday action of the event consisted of three short stages, including a single run on the Street Stage followed by the Super Special stage twice completed. Although it was Thierry Neuville grabbing the first stage win, Ogier went fastest in both SS2 and SS3 to end up leading by 1.6s from the Belgian. Ogier’s teammates at Volkswagen Jari-Matti Latvala and Andreas Mikkelsen took third and fourth respectively, the former suffering from understeer during the day.
