Promoted podium fails to meet Ostberg's expectation
Mads Ostberg says M-Sport had been 'expecting a bit more' from its Ford Fiesta RS WRC challenger on the first gravel event of 2016 but is pleased with his promoted third place at Rally Mexico. After an underwhelming start at the Central American event the Norwegian discovered his rhythm and moved up the order as his rivals faltered on the high-attrition stages. After finishing fourth overall Ostberg received a post-rally promotion on to the podium after Dani Sordo was handed a two-minute time penalty for using 29 tyres – one more than the permitted 28.
