Mikkelsen loses ground on Ogier with Mexico failure

Andreas Mikkelsen lost vital ground on World Rally Championship leader Sebastien Ogier and says he moves on to Rally Argentina to make amends for the disappointment. After a solid but unspectacular start to Rally Mexico the Volkswagen Motorsport II driver began to climb the leaderboard on leg two but while running in fourth and closing in on Dani Sordo he crashed out on the SS15 Otates. After beaching his Volkswagen Polo R in a ditch the Norwegian had hoped to return under Rally 2 regulations but missed out due to the damage to his car being terminal. As a result, Mikkelsen conceded a considerable points deficit to Ogier and also slipped to third in the WRC drivers' standings behind...
