Funding restored for Rally Australia

The Coffs Harbour City Council has reversed its controversial decision to pull its funding from the Australian round of the World Rally Championship. After the Council voted to cease funding for the 2016 and 2017 running of the event a fortnight ago, a second vote yesterday has seen the decision reversed. The new decision ensures the event will stay on the Coffs Coast in the foreseeable future. “With this brief hiatus behind us we’re clear to put the throttle down on planning and organisation for what will be our best event yet,” Rally Australian Chairman Ben Rainsford said. “We’ll do so with the strongest possible demonstration of support from the Coffs Coast community, which...
