Meeke describes Rally Portugal win as "textbook"

Kris Meeke has described his run to score a second career WRC victory in last weekend's Rally Portugal as a "textbook" performance and "near-perfect". Meeke his team Citroen is only present in WRC as a part-time entry this year, as the manufacturer is focusing on developing its 2017-spec car. Having only scored once so far, the Northern Irishman started the Friday and Saturday stages 13th on the road and was leading by a minute by Day 2. He had a faultless run for the rest of the rally, and safely made it to the end in the lead, beating Volkswagen duo Andreas Mikkelsen and Sebastien Ogier.
