Italy WRC: Ogier takes lead in Thursday Super Special

WRC points leader Sebastien Ogier was fastest in the two-kilometre first run of the 2016 Rally Italia Sardegna. With the field running in pairs and in reverse order of the standings in the opener, Ogier was the among the last to complete the stage. His time of 2m00.04s beat Ott Tanak's previous benchmark, the DMACK driver ending up 0.3s off in second with Jari-Matti Latvala recording an identical time in third. Hyundai's part-time driver Kevin Abbring, who is running with the team's 2015-spec machinery, was fourth, followed by Andres Mikkelsen and Abbring's three teammates in the order of Thierry Neuville, Hayden Paddon and Dani Sordo.
