FIA annuls Prokop penalty in Rally Italy

Martin Prokop has announced the five-minute time penalty he had received at the beginning of WRC's previous round in Italy has been revoked by the FIA. The Czech privateer was handed the penalty after the seal on his car's rear differential was found to be broken. Prokop just missed out on scoring points by finishing 11th and was left furious, threatening to leave the championship. However, once the team returned to its base, a check of the parts suggested the seal was not broken, and the new evidence was brought forward to the FIA Technical Delegate.
