Tanak, Latvala give Toyota 1-2 start at Rally Sweden

Ott Tanak has secured victory on the opening stage of Rally Sweden to head the times with Toyota Gazoo Racing team-mate Jari-Matti Latvala in second place, while defending WRC champion Sebastien Ogier sits a lowly ninth. The Estonian produced a flying run of Karlstad 1 to take the stage win by 0.3 seconds from teammate Latvala with Citroen’s Mads Ostberg in third place narrowly ahead of teammate Kris Meeke in fourth. Andreas Mikkelsen heads up a Hyundai trio in joint-fourth after setting an identical time to Meeke, with Thierry Neuville one-tenth of a second back in sixth place.
