Ogier: Sardinia win "very important" in title race

Sebastien Ogier has hailed his victory on Rally Italia Sardegna as “very important” in his fight to win the WRC Drivers' title for a third year in a row. Ogier put in a near faultless drive in his Volkswagen Polo R WRC, and despite his road position, running first on the road on days one and two, kept himself in contention, before grabbing the lead on Saturday afternoon. He eventually won by over 3 minutes and now takes his tally for the season to 133 points - almost double that of his closest rival, Mads Ostberg. “The win here on Sardinia was very important in our fight for the world championship.
