Character the key for future of WRC

The face of the World Rally Car is set to change following the release of technical and homologation vision for the period 2017-19. The principles of the regulations for the 2017-2019 WRC car were approved by the World Motor Sport Council following its meeting in Mexico City this week, with a clear intention to produce a car with a far more dynamic and distinct appearance 'that exhibits character and diversity'. The final direction to be taken by designers will be confirmed after pending discussions between the various manufacturers and the FIA's technical heads.
