Rally Germany, Day 2: Ogier extends lead on the Panzerplatte
Sebastien Ogier stamped his authority on Rally Germany on Day 2 over Volkswagen teammate Jari-Matti Latvala. Ogier takes a 33.8s lead into the final day, having won the majority of Saturday’s stages and rammed his advantage home on the 28-mile Panzerplatte stage. “A perfect day for us – really happy,” he said. “We made most of the difference in Panzerplatte – that was the key. “We had the right set-up and tyre management. I had a really good feeling.” Latvala won three stages today, but has admitted that his hope of victory have passed. “It's been a sensible drive from me today,” he said. “I'm not trying to push too hard.
