Sebastien Ogier wins in Australia to clinch third WRC title
The 31-year-old became just the third driver to win three championships in a row, joining his countryman Sebastien Loeb and Finland's Tommi Makinen. Ogier won the final seven stages to capture the three-day gravel road event by 12.3 seconds from his Finnish teammate Latvala. Northern Ireland's Kris Meeke finished third, a further 20.3 seconds behind after briefly leading on day two. "It's an amazing season, the best I've ever done," said Ogier. Ogier's title success also moves him to fourth on the all-time list of WRC champions, just behind Juha Kankkunen and Makinen, who both have four championships to their names, and also secured another manufacturers' crown for VW.
