Dakar to start from Peru in 2016
The 2016 edition of the Dakar Rally will kick off from Lima, Peru, organisers announced on Thursday. The Dakar organisers revealed the outline of the route for the 2016 event in Paris, which will not have any stages in Chile as the country has been affected by flooding. As a result, a new route from Peru to Argentina will be used. Drivers and riders will go from the Peruvian capital city of Lima through the high plains of Bolivia before finishing the event in Rosario, Argentina. The 2016 Dakar will kick off on January 3 and finish on 16 January.
