Peugeot unveils new Dakar challenger

Peugeot Sport will defend its 2016 Dakar Rally title with a brand new Peugeot 3008 DKR for next year’s event, superseding the successful 2008 DRK. The new car is based on a brand new production vehicle from Peugeot, the 3008 SUV, which will be launched at the Paris Motor Show in October. The 3008 DKR will be debuted by Spanish rally legend Carlos Sainz in Morocco next month and features a raft of upgrades over its predecessor, that Stephane Peterhansel guided to victory in the famous Dakar event last January. “The 3008 symbolises the next step,” said head of Peugeot Sport, Bruno Famin. “Our goal with this car was to take the weaker points of the existing car and make them stronger,...
