Dakar 2017, Stage 1: Santosh ends lead Indian rider, TVS Sherco's Pedrero is P2
Hero MotoSports Rally team's CS Santosh finished as the lead Indian rider in the opening stage of the 2017 Dakar Rally, while TVS Sherco's Joan Pedrero enjoyed the day ending up second overall. The opening loop between Paraguay capital of Asuncion to Argentine city of Resistencia on Monday covered a total of 454km, with only 39km as timed section. Riding the Hero Speedbrain 450 bike, Santosh clocked a time of 32m45s finishing 47th, a mere 0.03s behind the two KTM riders David Pabiska (45th) and Alessandro Ruoso (46th).
