Latvala leads Sweden Rally

Finland's Jari-Matti Latvala lead the Rally of Sweden on Friday as teammate Sebastien Ogier lost time because of a crash. Latvala started the afternoon stages near Hagfors just 1.6 seconds ahead of Volkswagen teammate Andreas Mikkelsen of Norway, but extended that to 4.8 going into the super special stage that would end the third day of competition. Mikkelsen, who has never been on a World Rally Championship podium, said he could have gone quicker, but did not want to risk an accident. His compatriot, Citroen driver Mads Ostberg, was third, around 18 seconds ahead of fourth-placed Mikko Hirvonen of Finland in a Ford.
