Meeke survives late scare to win Rally Mexico

Kris Meeke survived a last minute scare on the power stage to win Rally Guanajuato Mexico. Meeke came into the final stage with a 37 second lead after winning the day’s first stage but nearly threw it all away with a mistake 500m away from the finish line. The Citroen ran wide on a corner, went through a hedge, nearly rolling in the process, and emerged in a spectators car park. After narrowly avoiding the parked cars, Meeke turned the car around and drove on to victory, abeit with a much reduced 13.8 second margin.
