WRC Promoter thrilled with 2017 revamp
The commercial rights owner of the World Rally Championship is adamant the new regulations are a bold and exciting move by the sport after it was verified by the World Motor Sports Council in Mexico City on Friday (10 July). The new rules will be introduced at the start of the 2017 season, coinciding with Toyota's return to WRC, and include 'more individual and dramatic looking cars with bigger rear wings, greater overhangs for front and rear bumpers and larger door sills'. WRC manufacturers will also be allowed to run with more power by pumping it up to a maximum 380bhp and a turbo restrictor increase from 33mm to 36mm.
