Hockenheim WRX: Ekstrom leads Day 1, Loeb languishing outside top 10
DTM star Mattias Ekstrom topped the order, after the opening day's two qualifying races at Hockenheim, in the World RX season's second round, on Friday. The German event is one of the busiest of Ekstrom’s career as he competes in both World RX and DTM, but the experienced Swede set the fastest time in Q1. He beat double World RX event winner Davy Jeanney in the last race of the session, before being third quickest in Q2 which put him top in the Intermediate Classification standings. Johan Kristoffersson was fourth fastest in Q1 and won the last race of the day, race four of Q2, to be second overall ahead of Peugeot-Hansen driver Timmy Hansen, who was twice second in the opening two...
