Hockenheim WRX: Ekstrom leads Heikkinen in Audi 1-2
EKS Audi driver Mattias Ekstrom won the second round of the World Rallycross Championship at Hockenheim, ahead of teammate Toomas Heikkinen in a dramatic pair of semi-finals and final. Ken Block completed the podium having got into the final 12 through the back door, when Timmy Hansen was disqualified from his Q4 race. Ekstrom had topped the order at the Intermediate Classification but was beaten away from the start line in the first semi-final by Heikkinen, the pair running line astern throughout to start on the first and second row for the final.
